DATA (The Destination Academy with TripAdvisor) AFRICA
The DATA project is an initiative by E-Tourism Frontiers and Trip Advisor to bring together Destination Managers at regional events to discuss the growing importance of user-generated content in travel planning. With more and more consumers relying on content from ‘fellow travellers’ to plan their trips, it is vital for destinations to understand how this can be incorporated into their marketing strategies. DATA events will include training sessions, guided discussions, best practices, as well as analysis of the latest Big Data and trends from TripAdvisor.
Our latest event, DATA Africa, will be held at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge on July 30-31st 2015 and promises to be a dynamic and invaluable two-day event that will provide attending destinations with new approaches, resources and ideas for better digital marketing. It will also be a great social event held in the heart of African tourism by the natural wonder of Victoria Falls with hosted dinners and social events, and is being co-hosted with Atta and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.

DATA IN YOUR DESTINATION
DATA is about much more than just destination management. It is also to assist destinations to create a genuinely engaged online community among the local travel trade they represent. We are now offering destinations an opportunity to host a DATA Seminar for their own private sector stakeholders and tourism trade in their own country. These are tailor made seminars for each destination designed to meet the needs of each country and their tourism sector.
These seminars are delivered by E-Tourism Frontiers using their successful highly practical and interactive modules that have been used around the world in almost 20 countries from South Africa to Nepal. These seminars will change the way your stakeholders do business, but also enable destinations to improve their ability to create complete and fruitful content sharing partnerships with their trade.
Attendees will be guided through the use of social media, user generated content and online distribution tools by professionals with real word tourism experience. Guest sessions from TripAdvisor and other travel platform will make these sessions even more practical and useful for your trade.
These are affordable packages which can either be hosted by the Destination or funded by trade attendance fees.
