Quest for the Best of African Travel Technology
Brought to you by: South Africa Tourism and VISA
E-Tourism Frontiers in association with VISA and South Africa Tourism are proud to present the Africa App Quest. This is a continent wide search for the best locally developed travel technology application. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges and the audience at the 6th Annual E-Tourism Africa Summit and will receive a prize of $10,000 towards the development of their product.
This can be any tourism related application that uses technology for tourism. This can be an application, product or service used by either the travel trade or tourists themselves.
The developers must be citizens of an African country or a company that is majority owned by African citizens.
We have assembled a panel of judges from the travel and technology world to evaluate and select our three finalists. These include representatives from E-Tourism Frontiers, South African Tourism, VISA, Kenya Tourist Board, Trip Advisor, and Facebook Developers Betapond. Judges will be looking for entries that use innovative thinking and use of technology to produce creative dynamic opportunities to increase and improve tourism to Africa.
The three finalists selected by the judges will be given an opportunity to present their product at the 6th Annual E-Tourism Africa Summit in Cape Town on the 10-11th September 2013. The audience will be made up of tourism and technology stakeholders from across Africa. Following the presentations the audience will vote for their choice of the three finalists.
The winner will receive a prize of $10,000 and a selection of prizes from the event partners and sponsors.
