E-Tourism Frontiers will be leading discussions at the upcoming PATA New Tourism Frontiers Forum in Legazpi, The Philippines. CEO Damian Cook will be holding a digital sessions discussing new online frontiers with TripAdvisor and Crooked Compass, and also moderating a session on sustainable marine Tourism.
The PATA New Tourism Frontiers Forum brings together top tourism professionals to discuss emerging issues related to adventure travel and responsible tourism.
The current theme on “Ecotourism – Transcending Climate Change” explores how alternative forms of tourism can help counter the negative impacts of tourism on climate change, especially in the context of emerging destinations.
Through its choice of venue, the Forum also introduces its delegates to lesser-known corners of the world, in line with the Association’s advocacy of the dispersal of tourists to second-tier destinations.
This year, delegates will land in the “City of Fun and Adventure” – Legazpi City in the province of Albay in the Philippines – known for its perfectly cone-shaped Mayon Volcano, once a nominee for the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
Participants will gain new insights on the topics of eco-tourism and adventure travel, while learning first-hand how to market up-and-coming destinations through practical, on-ground activities.
